Snowblower Reviews

  • Just repaired after 10 Years
    By Oxford Vic(Owner), Jan. 10, 2013
I have had my machine since the winter of 2001. Except for maintaines I have had very few problems. It does end to brake it's safety bolts a lot but I purchased like 20. The only issue I have is the chute cable would pop off its holder and neither I nor my local repair shop ever fixed it properly. This last snow storm 12/2013 finally caused my drive belts to loosen and my plastic belt cover to crack. So for about $650.00 I had the entire machine serviced and all the problem areas fixed. I switched to a new shop and walla ...they fixed the chute cable..said it was seized up. So being this was the first service in three winters I would say I did ok. I think if I get five more years out if it I will be very satisfied.

  • Fantastic Machine

I bought my Snapper L1226E used from a gentleman who had purchased it new and used it for 5 years. He said he never had any problems and it has worked great for me. When I bought it, I needed to do some minor maintenance such as greasing it and tightening the belts and cables all of which was quite simple. I have a four car driveway and a corner lot and this machine handles it all with ease. I also have several elderly neighbors and live next to a church so I handle their snow removal too. My Snapper has made all this removal quite enjoyable. The 26" swath clears the side walks quickly and the big impeller throws the snow great. The clearance between the impeller and housing is quite tight and I haven't had any issues with the machine clogging even on heavy wet snow. Great machine!
