Snowblower Reviews

  • Great Snowblower
By Mark (Owner), Dec. 6, 2010
I purchased the Cub this past September to be ready for the upcoming winter.

I used the snowblower this morning for the 1st time and it did a fantastic job! Started on the 1st try [electric start].

Cleared my driveway in about 8 passes.

Only had a few inches of snow and you could tell this thing wanted more snow, as it was not even a challenge for the snow blower.

My only complaint is the chute control is a little sluggish in the cold.

  • Paint Problems
    By Tom Wulf(Owner), Apr. 3, 2014
I purchased this snow-blower new on 01-27-2014 to replace my 10 year old MTD. It cost about half again as much as a MTD. I like the extra HP but after several uses I noticed the paint was coming off the metal between stage 1 and 2 and was already rusting. My MTD lasted years before it rusted so I am disappointed. Cub Cadet told me that it happens and is not covered by them.

  • Overrated snow blower
    By Bob Hazelton(Owner), Dec. 14, 2014
My background, lived in Water town NY 4 years. Used toro sno thrower then. Moved to central nys just above Cooperstown. Here I used and still have 1992 John Deere 826. Have been snowblowing for over 50 winters in snow belt areas. The Cub Cadet 526SWE is the very worst snow blower I have used. Poor lugs on tires, bogs easily in heavy snow and worse in wet snow even when going slowest speed available.THe material steel is very light gauge. If you are given this snow bower high ratings you either work for them, or sell them. I am glad I still have the 1992 John deere 826. PS I won the Cub Cadet 526 SWE on a raffle. Would never purchase one. So you folks think it is great a got great reviews from magazines. You actually have a snow blower akin to my sons Tonka Toys and I even think they are sturdier.
