I am living through the worst winter i can remember at 50 years old and up until today I was worried that I could be snowed in by one of these 2011 east coast snow storms. this morning I went to Home Depot and I saw these Brute snow blowers for sale. I inquired about the availability and a clerk told me that they had 28 of them come in earlier that morning and that they are almost sold out. so I bought one and took it home, started it up and which was easy and cleared all the snow in my driveway and the mound in front of the driveway entrance which the town snow plows pushed against my side of the street. Well the Brute snow blower hate through that 4 foot high of compacted heavy snow like a hot knife cuts through butter. Thank you Briggs and Stratton for giving me piece of mind and less time I have to spend cleaning up snow.

sweet relief

I just got a new brute snow blower and I can't agree anymore with the name. This machine is a brute with the way it plowed through the snow. This machine is very easy to operate one pull with the cord and it started up. The only complaint I have is the on and off switch. It isn't marked clearly. Ex. the markings are a circle or a straight line. No where in the manual does it say off is the circle and on is the straight line it took me more than a few tries to figure it out but once I did the brute workek perfectly.

Pluses: electric start is great, headlamp. Minuses: loud!, handle assembly poorly attached to chasis;loosens frequently, throw chute loosens frequently changing direction of the thrown snow, bearing on 2-stage pulley is shot with less than 50 hours, skid shoes work like brakes, shear pins snap lile toothpicks, but most annoying of all is the drive funtion. Poorly engineered, loosens constantly making reverse impossible and forward inconsistent. Adjustment cable and transmission bar just plain suck. Very disappointing machine. Engine great, machine junk. Don't buy.

I've used the 1350 series snowblower for three years and love it's power and snow moving cabability. It is very powerful and throws snow 20-25 feet. The only problems has been the chute height adjustment cable freezes after ten minutes and is stuck at whatever position it was when it froze. Also I can't remember if it started out wiht two wheel drive but only one wheel turns now making it hard to move through slippery surfaces. I've sheered several pins on the auger but learned not to force large ice chucks through it. It's worth considering despite my problems.

Brut SnowBlower 1012

we bought our BRUT snowblower inJan 1012 we only used it a few time that winter. This year we have had more snow then last year so the snowblower has been used alot more. so far this year we have replaced the shear pin in the auger several time. we have replaced the shear pin that is on the inside of this machine which runs the drive gear. the wheels (both) keep falling off this week the blower has stop working all together we believe that the motor is gone. This machine has less then 40 hours working time . It,s used up more time in the shop then blowing snow I,m sorry to say that I would not reconmend this snowblower to any one

Unreliable

This thing has been unreliable since the start. The drive mechanism cuts in and out randomly, the engine cuts out a few times per use, and now in the middle of a blizzard it won't start at all. All this from a machine less than two years old. Pathetic!

electrically controlled chute

I bought this snow blower in Feb. 2014 and used twice since. I started it this morning (1/9/'15) and cleared half my driveway when the electric control rotating the chute stopped working. Checked the operation/maintenance manual, and the advice is "take it to an authorized dealer, electric problem". This is the middle of the winter in Wisconsin, and the advice is take it to a dealer?? And more importantly is why did this fail so quickly after purchase? What kind of quality is put into the manufacture of this model. Very frustrated.
