The Cub Cadet snowblower lineup offers single-stage, two-stage and three-stage models to tackle anything Old Man Winter can throw at you.
A new snowblower can be an expensive investment for any homeowner or property manager, which is why you want to take your time to carefully compare all your options. The Cub Cadet snowblower family includes a wide variety of models and this buyer’s guide can help you find the right snowblower for your needs.
Before reviewing these models, note the difference between single-stage, two-stage, and three-stage models. A single-stage snow blower simply brushes snow into the chute, where it is then blown away from you. A two-stage model has a type of blade or auger inside that shovel, which breaks up snow and ice as it’s collected. A three-stage model has two separate blades that work to break up snow and ice. These added stages make easier work of cutting through dense, packed snow and ice, so they’re usually recommended for areas with heavier snowfall and over areas with poor drainage, where ice is more likely to form.
Single-Stage Models
Cub Cadet 1×21 123cc
At approximately 83 pounds, the 1×21 123cc Cub Cadet snowblower is an easy model to operate. This lighter weight makes this blower a good choice for people without the strength or dexterity needed to handle a heavy-duty snowblower. The 21” clearance is also good for sidewalks and small driveways. The lighter weight and polymer auger is not ideal for handling deep, thick snow and ice, but the 1×21 model can be an excellent choice for areas with lighter snowfall and smaller properties.
Cub Cadet 1×21 HP 179cc
The Cub Cadet 1×21 179cc is a bit heavier than the 123cc model, at just over 90 pounds. However, this unit is still light enough for most people to manage, even if they otherwise struggle physically with snow clearing. The more powerful engine should be able to cut through slightly denser snow.
Cub Cadet 1×21 LHP 208cc
The Cub Cadet 1×21 208cc features the same narrow clearing path as the two previous models, making it perfect for small residential sidewalks. However, the 208cc engine in this model allows you to more readily clear thicker snow and some light ice or slush. The chute of the 208cc model has a full 180-degree rotational head, so you can more readily direct blown snow to any direction you choose.

Two-Stage Models
Cub Cadet 2×24 208cc
The lightest member of the two-stage Cub Cadet snowblower family, the 2×24 208cc offers a wider 24-inch clearing path than the 1×21 models, and a four-way directional chute for better control of thrown snow’s direction. Skid shoes keep the shovel off the pavement and allow for easier handling, which might be needed for this model, as it comes in at over 200 pounds.

Cub Cadet 2×26 243cc
The 26” clearing width on this Cub Cadet snowblower can be an excellent choice for clearing a comfortable walking path with just one pass. Dual headlights on this model are placed on either side of the handlebars, so you have proper illumination of your path no matter the direction of the chute. The chute itself also has a high arc, for maximum propulsion of blown snow, something to consider if you’re clearing a large driveway or even a small parking lot.

Cub Cadet 2×28 272cc
The 28” clearing path of the Cub Cadet 2×28 272cc snowblower makes quick work of clearing wide walkways and driveways. The auger and shovel of this model are both made with a heavy-duty serrated steel, for cutting through packed snow and ice. This model also boasts 16”x6.5” tires, which can help keep the machine from sinking into snow as it’s being cleared. Heated hand grips are also optional on this model.

Three-Stage Models
Cub Cadet 3×24 277cc
The Cub Cadet 3×24 277cc is a lighter and smaller version of their three-stage models, so you have the clearing capacity of the heavy auger but without the weight and size of larger blowers. The 24” clearing path is still sufficient for most one-direction walkways, and this Cub Cadet model comes with single-hand steering standard. Soft grip handles are also a good choice for those with limited grip or other difficulties in controlling a snow blower.

Cub Cadet 3×24 HD 277cc
The induction accelerator of the 3×24 HD 277cc Cub Cadet snowblower gently pulls snow into the shovel clearance, so that the operator doesn’t need to push the blower into packed snow. This can make it easier for someone with limited physical strength to handle the larger size and weight of the 3×24, and also makes quicker work of clearing oversized lots and deeper snow. Trigger-controlled power steering also makes it easier to turn the unit, without struggling to force the handlebars in one direction or the other, while an LED light bar on the intake housing offers improved illumination.
Cub Cadet 3×26 357cc
The 26” clearance of the Cub Cadet 3×26 creates a very comfortable walking path, and a 357cc engine allows for easier cleaning of thick and heavy ice and snow. The auger gear box of this model is made from a heavy-duty cast aluminum, for maximum strength and resistance to damage. Heated hand grips are also standard on this model of Cub Cadet snowblower, a perfect choice for larger clearing jobs and for anyone with circulatory problems, arthritis, or other health concerns that affect their hands and wrists.

Cub Cadet 3×26 HD 357cc
Sharing much in coming with its little brother, the HD version of the 3×26 comes with a light bar over the intake, a two-inch higher intake height, HD steel on the shave plate.
Cub Cadet 3×28 357cc
A 28” clearing path is a good choice for those who need to clear large driveways and parking lots, as you’ll need to make fewer passes with the wide shovel of this Cub Cadet snow blower. A four-way, multi-directional chute also offers maximum control over the direction of blown snow, and the extended oil fill tube makes quick work of maintaining this heavy-duty model.
Cub Cadet 3×28 HD 357cc
The flagship of the Cub Cadet snowblower lineup, the HD version of the 3×28 shares all the same features as the non-HD version, along with a light bar over the intake, two-inch taller intake height, and HD steel on the shave plate.
